According to the headquarters on September 30, this initiative targeted 23 "Rising and Advancing Companies" in the province, including Modern Metal Co., Ltd. located on Banryong-ro in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Jeonbuk branch of the Korea Fire Facility Association, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Economic and Trade Promotion Agency, and the Jeonju Volunteer Center.
"Rising and Advancing Companies" are businesses designated and nurtured by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Economic and Trade Promotion Agency. This program selects local small and medium-sized enterprises with growth potential and strengthens their competitiveness through tailored, phased support over three years.
This "Fire Facility Maintenance Service" went beyond simple inspections, focusing on providing practical support to help companies establish their own autonomous safety management systems.
The headquarters prioritized support for Rising and Advancing Companies that are not required to conduct their own fire facility inspections, aiming to simultaneously promote business growth and safety and to strengthen the local industrial safety network.
Main areas of support included: ▲ Free maintenance and replacement of aging fire facilities such as emergency bells and exit signs to improve initial fire response capabilities ▲ Placement of additional fire extinguishers and training on their use to enhance on-site employees’ ability to respond to fires in the early stages ▲ Education on fire facility maintenance and provision of on-site, customized safety consulting.
In particular, the free maintenance and replacement of outdated or malfunctioning fire facilities reduced companies’ financial burdens and enabled prompt and systematic responses in the event of a fire, earning a positive response. The headquarters plans to continue providing practical support that can be immediately utilized on-site, contributing to the spread of a safety culture among small and medium-sized enterprises in the province.
Lee Osook, Chief of Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters, stated, "Strengthening the initial fire response capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises is the first step in safeguarding the safety of local residents. We will continue to expand customized fire safety services for small and medium-sized enterprises, reinforce the local industrial safety network, and further contribute to revitalizing the regional economy and establishing a culture of safety."
