This event was organized for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Banwol-Sihwa Industrial Complex, focusing on the topic of AI-based AX (AI Transformation).

AX Transformation is an industrial transition strategy based on automation using artificial intelligence technology, and is particularly attracting attention as a next-generation digital transformation direction that includes automation and intelligence in manufacturing sites. The seminar consisted of three sessions: trends in Sovereign AI & Physical AI technology, trends in future mobility (SDV) technology, and trends in AI-based autonomous manufacturing technology.

More than 100 participants attended the seminar, including representatives and employees of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Banwol-Sihwa Industrial Complex, members of the regional industry-academia cooperation council, officials from the Siheung City Business Association, and students from Korea University of Technology and Education, demonstrating high interest in the event.

Attendees raised practical questions about how AI can actually be introduced into manufacturing sites and about the timing and requirements for the application of Physical AI, leading to active exchanges of practical advice from the speakers. In addition, with the growing prominence of SDV-based control technology due to the spread of electric and autonomous vehicles, discussions were held on response strategies and talent development plans for local automotive parts companies.

This seminar was part of the "Regional Intelligence Innovation Talent Development Project" organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). Through this project, the Grand-ICT Research Center is nurturing master's and doctoral-level talent among employees and supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises in securing technological competitiveness and advancing digital transformation.

Bae Yuseok, director of the Grand-ICT Research Center, stated, "As industrial sites are rapidly being reorganized in response to changes in AI technology, the center will continue to expand effective programs that link companies and education. We will make even greater efforts to provide practical support for technology education and talent development to help local small and medium-sized enterprises with AX transformation."

Meanwhile, Korea University of Technology and Education, as a government-funded engineering-specialized university under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, focuses on future industries such as AI, semiconductors, and carbon neutrality. Through practice-oriented education based on industry-academia cooperation, the university continuously produces professionals optimized for industrial demand and leads innovative growth through close ties with the local community and industry.
