In October of last year, Mayor Park filed a complaint against officials including the then-director of the corporation, alleging that employees had systematically concealed a colleague's drunk driving incident. He accused them of obstruction of business and violation of the Act on the Management of Public Archives. However, the police found the evidence insufficient and dismissed the charges.
The union stated, "There are suspicions that Mayor Park filed the complaint based on false information," and added, "We request an investigation to determine whether there were intentional false statements or false accusations, and whether the disciplinary procedures were unduly enforced."
This is the second complaint the union has filed against Mayor Park, following a recent accusation of abuse of authority and interference with the exercise of rights. The union claims that Mayor Park has repeatedly pursued disciplinary action against specific individuals, resulting in ongoing harassment.
The union criticized, "Although Gwangsan District imposed severe disciplinary measures at the time, the local labor relations commission, the central labor relations commission, and the administrative court all ruled that the disciplinary actions were unjust. Despite this, the mayor has continued to attempt further disciplinary actions, exceeding his audit authority, abusing his power, and interfering with union activities."
