Creating a Warm Holiday Atmosphere
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province will implement a 'Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Plan' until October 9, aiming to ensure that residents and returning visitors enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday during the upcoming Chuseok.
This plan focuses on four main areas: a safe holiday, stabilization of livelihoods and the spread of sharing, resolving inconveniences in daily life, and establishing discipline among public officials. A total of 16 detailed action plans have been prepared, establishing a constant response system.
The county will assign 25 staff members across 11 teams, centered around the Planning and Audit Office's General Situation Room, and will cooperate with 11 towns and townships to promptly handle various incidents, accidents, and civil complaints, thereby minimizing inconvenience for residents.
To prevent disasters and emergencies, a disaster response team will be operated to forecast and communicate weather conditions such as typhoons in advance and prepare for emergencies, while also implementing wildfire prevention measures during the holiday period.
In addition, an emergency quarantine team will be operated to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. To prepare for medical emergencies, designated emergency medical institutions, on-duty hospitals and clinics, and pharmacies will be available to minimize any gaps in medical services.
To stabilize prices and revitalize the local economy, the county will monitor the prices of essential goods, check compliance with country-of-origin and price labeling regulations, promote the use of traditional markets, and hold Onnuri gift certificate refund events. Furthermore, support for vulnerable groups and the spread of a culture of sharing will be promoted through visits to low-income seniors and social welfare facilities, as well as safety checks for elderly residents living alone.
To resolve inconveniences in daily life, inspections of water supply and sewage facilities will be conducted, and emergency water supply measures will be put in place. An emergency waste collection team will be operated to prevent the accumulation of garbage. As traffic congestion is expected during the holiday, a special traffic response situation room will be set up to support the safe movement of returning visitors and tourists.
In the area of civil services, unmanned civil document issuance machines (located at the main office and five town and township offices) will be inspected in advance, and urgent civil complaints will be received and handled by the General Situation Room to minimize inconvenience for residents.
A county official stated, "We will thoroughly implement measures in each area so that both residents and returning visitors can enjoy a safe and warm holiday," adding, "We will do our utmost to stabilize livelihoods and provide convenience for our residents."
Meanwhile, the county plans to make available the list of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, gas companies, water and sewage service providers, and waste collection companies operating during the Chuseok holiday at the county office duty room and each emergency standby team, as well as post it on the county website, to minimize inconvenience for residents.
