Up to 20,000 Won in Benefits
at Oido Traditional Seafood Market and Sammi Market
The city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province will hold an "Onnuri Gift Certificate Rebate Event" at Oido Traditional Seafood Market and Sammi Market for five days from October 1 to 5, aiming to boost consumption at traditional markets and ease the burden of shopping costs ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
During this period, citizens who purchase designated items above a certain amount can receive up to 20,000 won per person, equivalent to a maximum 30% rebate, in Onnuri gift certificates. The rebate amounts are as follows: a 10,000 won rebate for purchases between 34,000 and 67,000 won, and a 20,000 won rebate for purchases over 67,000 won. Consumers can present their purchase receipts at the event booth and receive the rebate after an identity verification process.
At Oido Traditional Seafood Market, eligible items include domestically produced seafood and processed foods such as salted seafood products made with more than 70% domestic ingredients. However, purchases at regular restaurants, payments made with Zero Pay seafood gift certificates, government stockpiled seafood, and imported seafood are excluded. At Sammi Market, rebates are available for purchases of fresh domestic agricultural, livestock, and fishery products.
Im Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung, stated, "I hope the Onnuri Gift Certificate Rebate Event will provide practical support for holiday shopping and serve as an opportunity to revitalize traditional markets."
