Jinju City Promotes Public Service Culture with Integrated Violence Prevention Training

For Senior Officials at Grade 5 and Above

Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 30 that it held an 'Integrated Violence Prevention Training' for senior officials at the level of Grade 5 and above, including Mayor Cho Kyu-il, at the City Hall Citizens' Hall.


This training focused on the prevention of the four major types of violence-sexual harassment, prostitution, sexual violence, and domestic violence. It was organized to strengthen the sound values of senior officials and to promote a healthy public service culture characterized by mutual respect and consideration.

The session was led by Professor Kim Daegun from the Department of Ethics Education at Gyeongsang National University’s College of Education, who presented real-life cases related to the four major types of violence that can commonly occur in the workplace.


Mayor Cho Kyu-il stated, "When the public sector takes the lead and sets an example, it can drive overall awareness improvement in the local community. We will continue to do our best to create a public service culture where respect and consideration thrive."


Meanwhile, Jinju City conducts four major violence prevention training sessions for all employees every year. In addition to in-person training, the city also encourages staff to complete online courses to raise awareness of gender equality and is committed to fostering a healthy workplace culture.
