Through Advanced Agricultural Machinery and Agtech Industry

Chilgok County in North Gyeongsang Province successfully held the "2025 Chilgok County Future New Industry Seminar" on September 25 at the Hyangsa Art Center performance hall in Chilgok, in collaboration with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Research Division of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute of Korea. The main theme of the seminar was the beginning of regional industrial transformation through advanced agricultural technology.

The event was attended by Kim Jaewook, Mayor of Chilgok County, Lee Sangseung, Chairman of the Chilgok County Council, provincial and county council members Park Soonbeom and Jeong Hanseok, representatives from farmers’ organizations and companies, as well as around 150 local residents.

The program included an introduction of distinguished guests, opening remarks, congratulatory speeches, a promotional video screening, and a catchphrase performance that visually conveyed the seminar's theme.

The performance, which featured phrases such as "The Future of Agriculture Opened by Chilgok" and "Chilgok Leads Smart Agriculture," symbolically demonstrated the community’s commitment to agricultural innovation.

Yang Seunghwan, a researcher at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, gave a presentation titled "Digital Innovation in Agriculture Driven by AI and the Future of Smart Agriculture," highlighting the potential for digital transformation in agriculture. Professor Hong Donghyeok from Kyungpook National University presented on "The Creation of an Agtech Convergence Ecosystem and Regional Growth Engines," offering strategies for regional industrial growth.

Finally, Kwon Soondeok, Director of the Gyeongbuk Technopark Center, introduced "Chilgok County's Advanced Agricultural Machinery and Agtech Industry," confirming the potential for regional industrial transformation based on advanced agricultural technologies.

Kim Jaewook, Mayor of Chilgok County, stated, "This seminar was a meaningful occasion for Chilgok County to prepare for regional industrial transformation through advanced agricultural technology. We will continue to actively introduce cutting-edge technologies such as AI and agricultural robots, lead the advanced agricultural machinery and agtech industries, and develop them into strategic industries for the region to improve the quality of life for our residents."
