The Hwaseong City Museum of Art is planned to be built on Public Site 7 in Dongtan 2 District, at 1010 Osan-dong, with a total floor area of 6,025 square meters, consisting of one basement level and three above-ground floors.
This public recruitment aims to attract applicants among architectural experts who wish to be nominated for the design competition, in order to construct a world-class city art museum. Those selected as nominees will be given the opportunity to participate in the nominated design competition, which will be announced on November 24, and submit their design proposals.
Experts in architecture and related fields, both domestic and international, are eligible to participate in the competition. However, the representative must be a licensed architect in Korea who has registered and established an architectural office within the country. For further details, please refer to the announcement posted on the Hwaseong City Hall website.
The city plans to select a final total of five teams through an evaluation by the design competition operations committee, targeting those who submit nomination applications.
Jung Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong, stated, "The Hwaseong City Museum of Art will become a landmark where citizens and art can communicate in Hwaseong," and added, "We look forward to the interest and participation of many talented architects."
