Reinterpreting Anseongjang, One of the Three Major Joseon Markets: "2025 Anseong Culture Market Festa" to Be Held

To Be Held at Anseong Matchum Land from October 9 to 12

A cultural festival themed around "Anseongjang," one of the three major markets of the Joseon Dynasty, will be held in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.

The city of Anseong announced that it will host the "2025 Anseong Culture Market Festa" at Anseong Matchum Land for four days from October 9 to 12 as part of the "Korea Cultural City Anseong" initiative.

This event is a new-concept cultural festival that reinterprets the history and traditions of "Anseongjang" with a modern sensibility. This year, it will be held under the theme "Hip-Tradition."

The entire festival venue will be organized in the style of a select shop, featuring 19 local cultural masters, 24 cultural merchant teams, and more than 50 craft artists from across the country.

In addition, a variety of programs will be offered, including craft experience classes led by cultural masters, a craft vending machine, a craft dessert cafe, and a lucky bag making challenge.

Prior to the main event, a pre-promotion event for the "Anseong Culture Market Festa" will be held at Starfield Anseong for two days on October 3 and 4. At the pre-event, visitors can meet the 19 cultural masters in advance, participate in mini classes to create their works, and attend product showcases.

A city official stated, "This festival has been planned as an event where citizens can naturally enjoy Anseong's rich historical and cultural assets reinterpreted with a modern touch in their daily lives. Through the festival, we aim to widely promote the value of traditional crafts and further enhance the status of Anseong as a cultural city."
