Carrot, Orange, and Ginger Juice Gains Popularity on SNS
Testimonials Claim Noticeable Reduction in Abdominal Fat
"Supplementary Effect... Must Combine with Diet and Exercise"
Recently, a beverage recipe that is said to help with weight loss, especially reducing abdominal fat, has been trending on social networking services (SNS). This juice, made by blending carrots, oranges, and ginger with water, has received a flood of testimonials claiming that drinking it on an empty stomach every morning for a week led to a noticeable reduction in belly fat. However, experts point out that claims of losing weight solely through a specific beverage are largely exaggerated.
'Magic Juice' Said to Reduce Abdominal Fat
Recently, a recipe called the "Secret Military Beverage," which is said to help with weight loss, especially reducing abdominal fat, has been gaining attention on social networking services (SNS). According to the British media outlet Mirror, the recipe is rapidly spreading under the name "Secret Military Beverage." A recently posted video on TikTok gained huge popularity, with the creator describing the drink as a "secret recipe that soldiers drink to maintain their health and fitness." The preparation is simple: blend three carrots, two oranges, and a piece of ginger with 300mL of water, strain, and drink.
The online response has been enthusiastic. One TikTok user commented, "It works like magic. Try it yourself, and you'll be grateful later." Another user said, "It hasn't even been a week, but after drinking it 20 minutes before bed, I could feel my lower belly shrinking." Other testimonials include, "My belly fat disappeared in a week," "It's better than supplements," "Magic drink," "Thank you for sharing," and "I really lost weight noticeably."
The perceived effectiveness of this beverage for dieting is attributed to the benefits of its ingredients. Carrots are low in calories and high in fiber, which helps promote satiety and prevent overeating. Beta-carotene in carrots may also boost metabolism and aid weight management. Oranges are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, which can stimulate metabolism, reduce fat accumulation, and aid digestion. Ginger is known to generate heat in the body, increasing calorie expenditure, and has been reported to suppress appetite and improve gastrointestinal motility. Some studies suggest it can enhance metabolism by up to 20%.
Experts: "Only a Supplementary Role... Must Combine with Diet and Exercise"
However, experts warn that claims of "rapidly losing abdominal fat" in a short period by drinking only this beverage are unfounded. Weight loss fundamentally requires burning more calories than are consumed, and it is difficult to expect significant changes from a single beverage alone. Experts advise, "Consuming this drink as part of a healthy diet may provide supplementary benefits," but emphasize, "Sustainable results can only be achieved by combining it with a balanced diet and regular exercise."
