National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art to Offer Free Admission During Chuseok Holiday...SNS Certification Event

Free Admission to Seoul, Gwacheon, Deoksugung, and Cheongju Branches
Gifts Awarded Through SNS Visit Event

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will offer free admission to all four of its branches-Seoul, Gwacheon, Deoksugung, and Cheongju-during the Chuseok holiday period in 2025. The museum will also hold a social media certification event for visitors during the Chuseok holiday, which includes National Foundation Day, from October 3 to October 9.

During the Chuseok holiday, visitors can enjoy a variety of ongoing exhibitions at each branch: "Artist of the Year 2025," "Kim Tschang-Yeul," "MMCA X LG OLED Series 2025 - Harvest," and the permanent exhibition "Highlights of Korean Contemporary Art" at MMCA Seoul; the 80th Anniversary of Liberation exhibition "Nostalgia: Painting Hometown" at Deoksugung; MMCA International Masterpieces "Water Lilies and Chandelier," "Young Korean Artists 2025," and the permanent exhibitions "Korean Modern and Contemporary Art I, II" at Gwacheon; and at Cheongju, the MMCA X CMOA Cheongju Project 2025 "Bunker: From Darkness to Light," "Special Storage: MMCA Drawings and Japanese Contemporary Print Collection," and the 20th Anniversary Special Exhibition of the Art Bank "The Future Returns: Manifestations of Form and Thought."


The museum will host the "2025 #ChuseokMMCA Visit SNS Certification Event" for all visitors from October 5 to October 8. Anyone can participate by visiting any branch of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art during this period, taking a certification photo, and posting it on their personal Instagram account with the hashtag "#2025ChuseokMMCA." Winners will be selected by lottery to receive prizes such as Bluetooth earphones (1 winner) and coffee vouchers (30 winners).


Kim Sunghee, Director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, stated, "During the long Chuseok holiday, we are opening the museum wide to welcome the public. I hope everyone will create special memories with their families by visiting the museum and enjoying a variety of contemporary art exhibitions."
