Gochang County Successfully Concludes "Youth Day Commemoration Event"

Under the Theme "A Future Created by Youth, Together with Gochang"

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province held the "2025 Youth Day Commemoration Event - Youth Future Pop-up Store" on the 27th at Dammabuk Cafe in Gochang-eup.

According to the county on the 29th, the event, attended by more than 200 young people and residents, was held under the theme "A Future Created by Youth, Together with Gochang!" The event aimed to share the challenges and achievements of young people with the community and marked a meaningful step toward establishing Gochang as a youth-friendly city.

In particular, the "1st Gochang County Youth Award" ceremony was held to recognize the passion and dedication of young people who have made significant contributions to the local community. Joo Jieun, who was selected as the winner in the young entrepreneur category, demonstrated innovative ideas and entrepreneurial achievements using agricultural products from Gochang.

In the volunteer category, Lee Dongil was recognized for his ongoing volunteer work for neighbors, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, he became a role model for residents through his efforts in quarantine activities and sharing daily necessities.

At the Youth Entrepreneur Achievement Sharing Session, creative ideas and real-life startup cases were presented, capturing the attention of attendees. Inside the venue, youth-led experience programs such as cake making, solid perfume crafting, and keyring making, as well as busking performances and an achievement exhibition, provided enjoyable moments for residents.

In the promotional zone, the Gochang County Local Job Center operated booths to promote youth employment policies and offer job counseling, creating a practical information-sharing space. The Population Policy Team also ran booths for a population policy survey and to promote the Hometown Love Donation Program, drawing interest from both youth and residents. The youth-friendly city photo zone certification event further enhanced the festive atmosphere, allowing everyone to come together and enjoy the celebration.

County Governor Sim Deokseop stated, "Following Gochang County's achievement of the Grand Prize at the Youth-Friendly Constitutional Awards, we will use Youth Day as a springboard to vigorously advance as a youth-friendly city. We will always stand with young people to create a city where youth are happy and challenges are respected."
