[Invest&Law] Former Chief Prosecutor Yoonhee Park, Author of the "Stalking Punishment Commentary"... "Stalking Is Not Limited to Romantic Relationships" Lawyer Yoonhee Park.

Yoonhee Park, who previously oversaw all sexual crime and stalking cases nationwide as a chief prosecutor, has opened a law practice. Specializing in cases such as sexual crimes and child abuse, former Chief Prosecutor Park is recognized as a leading expert in this field, even authoring the "Commentary on the Punishment Provisions of the Stalking Punishment Act."

According to the legal community on October 1, Lawyer Park officially began work after opening her private office in Seocho-dong, Seoul, on September 23. Originally from Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province, Park graduated from Gimhae Girls' High School and Seoul National University with a degree in Astronomy. She earned an LL.M. (Master of Laws) from Santa Clara University in the United States and a master's degree in Fair Trade from Yonsei University Law School. Park was appointed as a prosecutor at the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office in 2007 and served at major frontline prosecutor's offices, including Chuncheon, Suwon, Seoul Western, and Ulsan. She also served as Deputy Spokesperson for the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Chief of the Yeongdong Branch of the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office, and Head of the Criminal Division 4 at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. From June to August 2024, she led investigations into "women and child crime cases" at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

During her tenure at the prosecution, Lawyer Park was known as an expert in sexual crimes, domestic violence, and school violence cases. As Head of Criminal Division 4 at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, she oversaw investigations into sexual violence crimes, digital sexual crimes, child abuse, and domestic violence cases nationwide. She established standards for handling digital sexual crime cases, created manuals for the deletion and blocking of illegal videos, promoted policies related to crimes against women and children, and conducted analyses of acquittal cases in digital sexual crimes.

In particular, she handled high-profile stalking cases involving celebrities and YouTubers, such as requesting a reinvestigation into the "Gaseyeon stalking case" involving YouTuber Tzuyang, which the police had initially dismissed, and directing the police to apply for provisional court orders in the "Gaseyeon stalking case" involving actress Kim Soo-hyun.

Lawyer Park's strength lies in her experience investigating thousands of cases involving sexual crimes, stalking, and child abuse. She can objectively predict the conclusions that police officers, prosecutors, and judges might reach, and based on this, provide the most suitable legal strategies and support.

Lawyer Park explained, "Stalking cases are no longer limited to issues between romantic partners. Obsessive stalking after breakups, noise disputes between neighbors, creditor-debtor conflicts, online exposure of personal information, and impersonation of others-all of these can constitute stalking. Such incidents are not uncommon in all areas of daily life, and unlike other crimes, provisional measures such as restraining orders, electronic monitoring, and immediate detention in holding cells or detention centers can be implemented at the reporting stage."
