Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that it has opened the "Gungpyeong Tourist Site Connecting Road," a section of Local Road No. 301 that links Gungpyeong Port, Gungpyeong Tourist Site, and Baekmi Port, which are major tourist destinations on the west coast.

The newly opened road covers a previously undeveloped 4.5-kilometer section of the coastal scenic route connecting Maehyang-ri, Gungpyeong Port, and Jeongok Port. The road features two lanes in both directions, with a total project cost of 84.6 billion won, including 29 billion won in national funding.
The city expects that the opening of the road will improve access to the Gungpyeong Tourist Site and the Seohaemaru Youth Hostel, revitalize the local commercial district, and enhance living conditions for residents. In particular, the connection between Gungpyeong Port, Baekmi Port, and Jeongok Port is expected to accelerate the creation of the "West Coast Tourism Belt."
Jung Myunggeun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "The opening of this road marks the starting point for Gungpyeong Tourist Site to become a world-class destination at the heart of the West Coast Tourism Belt."
