This training was designed to enhance citizens' understanding of AI technology and improve their ability to utilize it. In particular, the lectures were tailored to provide convenient, everyday services for the elderly.
The lectures were conducted by Professor Jang Siwoong from the Department of Computer Engineering at Dong-Eui University, a member of the Busan Science and Technology Advisory Group. The curriculum focused on practical exercises, covering topics such as the concepts and principles of AI, prompt writing techniques, the use of generative AI (writing, drawing, video, music), YouTube short-form content creation, real-world applications at work, and AI ethics and future outlook, which led to high participant satisfaction.
Gu Kyungyeol, Head of Sponsorship at the Busan Science and Technology Advisory Group, stated, "The classes filled up quickly, demonstrating the high level of interest in AI among senior citizens. We will continue to collaborate with local governments and related organizations to further expand and vitalize the foundation of science and technology in the Busan region."
The Busan Science and Technology Advisory Group was established in June by retired professors and philanthropists in the region to strengthen Busan's competitiveness in science and technology. With core values of knowledge sharing, nurturing future generations, building networks, and contributing to society, the group carries out various activities and offers educational programs for citizens to foster young local engineers and enhance industrial competitiveness.
