"Damyang's Future in the Hands of Youth"... Recruitment for Youth Policy Committee Members

Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jung Cheolwon) announced on September 28 that it will publicly recruit members for the first Damyang County Youth Policy Committee until October 2, in order to expand youth participation in county administration and implement effective youth policies.

The Youth Policy Committee is a youth participation body established to realize policies that young people can genuinely experience. Committee members will serve a two-year term, during which they will deliberate and coordinate on major youth policies and current issues in Damyang County.

Of the total 15 members, 6 will be recruited, excluding ex officio members. Anyone between the ages of 19 and 49 who resides in Damyang or is active in local schools, workplaces, or organizations, and has experience and expertise related to youth policy, is eligible to apply. Further details can be found in the announcements section of the county website.

Meanwhile, the county is also operating the fourth Damyang County Youth Policy Council to broaden youth engagement in the local community, and is supporting community activities of five teams through the Jeonnam-style Youth Community Revitalization Project.

Next year, the county plans to establish a youth center to attract and retain young residents. It will also newly launch the Damyang Local Youth Settlement Support Project and the Military Service Youth Injury Insurance Support Project, which provides insurance for injuries and illnesses for young people serving in the military.

Governor Jung Cheolwon stated, "I hope many passionate and skilled young people will actively apply for the Youth Policy Committee," adding, "We will further accelerate our efforts to make Damyang a place where young people choose to stay."
