This project is a public support initiative that provides used batteries from electric vehicles free of charge for purposes such as technology development, research, demonstration, and education, with the aim of promoting resource circulation and technological innovation.

As a result, the Department of E-Mobility at Songho University will receive used batteries from the Korea Environment Corporation for use in educational activities. With this selection, the Department of E-Mobility plans to establish an organic cooperation system with domestic electric vehicle manufacturers and share educational equipment and materials.

This achievement demonstrates that the educational and research competitiveness, as well as the public interest efforts, of the Department of E-Mobility at Songho University (headed by Professor Jeong Jangman) have been officially recognized by the government and external organizations.

In particular, it is cited as a case where the capabilities of a regional university, linked to the e-mobility industry-strongly promoted by Hoengseong County as a future growth engine-have been substantively acknowledged by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environment Corporation.

The Department of E-Mobility at Songho University operates a curriculum that combines theory and practice, based on the Hoengseong e-mobility industrial ecosystem. It offers customized education for both domestic and international students as well as working professionals, focusing on cultivating specialists in the electric vehicle and smart mobility sectors.

Notably, the department differentiates itself through employment connections with local e-mobility companies, the application of autonomous driving and smart agriculture, and convergence education with the digital healthcare industry. It is also participating in the establishment of an e-mobility research and demonstration complex, thereby expanding its foundation for industry-academia cooperation.

With this project selection, the Department of E-Mobility is now equipped to use used batteries as resources for practical training, education, and research, which is expected to yield the following benefits: ▲ Strengthening practical education: students can participate in performance experiments, recycling research, and demonstration projects using actual used batteries; ▲ Realizing eco-friendly values: by recycling used batteries as educational and research resources instead of treating them as mere waste, contributing to a sustainable circular economy; ▲ Expanding industry-academia cooperation: increased opportunities for collaboration with local companies and public institutions, thereby fostering regional development and enhancing industrial competitiveness.

Professor Jeong Jangman, head of the department, stated, "This selection officially recognizes the practicality and sustainability of the Department of E-Mobility's educational programs at Songho University," adding, "We will further develop this as an opportunity to provide tangible educational opportunities and environmental value to both students and the local community."

The Department of E-Mobility at Songho University plans to continue leading the sustainable development of the electric vehicle and mobility industries through specialized technical education, industry-academia cooperation, and contributions to the local community.
