GS Construction Introduces Curated Electronic Library Exclusively for Xi Residents

Hybrid E-Library Service Combining Ownership and Subscription Models

GS Construction announced on the 26th that it will introduce a hybrid electronic library service for residents of Xi Apartments in collaboration with Kyobo Book Centre, combining both ownership-based and subscription-based models.

Previously, electronic libraries in apartment complexes operated mainly on an ownership-based (purchase) model, which caused inconvenience as residents had to reserve or wait for books once the maximum number of owned titles was exceeded. The new hybrid model introduced in Xi combines the ownership-based model with a subscription-based (rental) model, allowing residents to instantly access popular or new titles through the subscription system. This service is available free of charge through the exclusive Xi Home application for Xi residents.

GS Construction announced on the 26th that it will provide the Kyobo Book Centre electronic library service accessible through Xi Home.

This service goes beyond simple e-book access by also providing curation features. It expands the personalized recommendation service previously offered in on-site libraries to mobile, offering reading suggestions tailored to residents’ interests, age, and lifestyle patterns, focusing on new releases and bestsellers.

Kyobo Book Centre’s extensive electronic library infrastructure is also a major strength. Kyobo Book Centre currently operates more than 4,800 electronic libraries and offers 400,000 types of exclusive electronic library content-the largest in Korea-while updating its collection with new releases every month to provide differentiated content.
