Mayor Lim Byeongtaek: "We Will Continue Efforts to Improve the Educational Environment"

Lara Elementary and Middle School, an integrated elementary and middle school, has faced difficulties conducting normal physical education classes, as the school was only able to secure about 61% of the legally required sports field area due to its limited campus size at the time of establishment.
To address this issue, the city has decided to expand public sports facilities in Baegot Saengmyeong Park, which is adjacent to the school, and provide them for school use.
For this purpose, the city will begin design services within this month, revise the development plan for Baegot Saengmyeong Park next month, and reflect these changes in the supplementary budget. Construction is scheduled to start in November, with completion planned for the first half of next year.
The new sports facilities will include a futsal field, a basketball court, and a running track. During weekdays, the facilities will be used for students' physical education classes, and at other times, they will be open to local residents.
Lim Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung City, stated, "This expansion of sports facilities will serve as a model case for the joint growth of schools and the local community," adding, "We will continue to strive to improve the educational environment and the quality of life for our residents."
