Suwon Southern Fire Station Wins Excellence Award at 119 Fire Policy Conference

Suwon Southern Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province was recognized for its research capabilities and policy implementation by receiving the Excellence Award at the 37th 119 Fire Policy Conference held on the 25th.

Hosted by the Central Fire Academy, this conference brought together fire headquarters from cities and provinces nationwide to present research achievements focused on solving on-site issues and improving policies.

Outstanding papers from each city and province that passed the preliminary round competed fiercely in the finals.

Suwon Southern Fire Station represented Gyeonggi Province and received the Excellence Award for its presentation on "Development of a Generative AI-Based Decision Support Service for On-Site Commanders."

Go Youngjoo, chief of Suwon Southern Fire Station, said, "This award is the result of research and practical efforts that reflect voices from the field. We will continue to do our best to establish policies and systems that protect public safety."

The 119 Fire Policy Conference is held annually to encourage academic research and policy development among firefighters nationwide and to spread outstanding practices.
