Shinhan Card announced on September 26 that it has developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based commercial district analysis solution for small and medium-sized local governments.
The solution was developed with the goal of balanced regional development and coexistence, taking into account the reality that small and medium-sized local governments often lack specialized data analysis personnel and systems.
Shinhan Card found that about 70% of the 226 basic local governments nationwide, which are small and medium-sized, face difficulties in establishing policies based on their own data analysis. After interviewing relevant officials, the company reflected on-site needs in the solution.
Utilizing Shinhan Card’s payment data and AI analysis technology, the company provided an intuitive analysis tool that enables easy identification of consumption patterns, changes in commercial districts, and local economic trends for each local government.
The solution is equipped with features such as AI-based regional consumption status analysis, sales trend analysis by commercial district, seasonal consumption volatility analysis, and comparative consumption analysis with neighboring regions.
Without the need for complex data analysis processes, the dashboard format allows users to easily view all information at a glance. The AI-generated analysis reports are expected to support policy-making by providing consumption data analysis.
The solution is available on Shinhan Card’s data business platform, “Data Bada.” It will be offered free of charge to all local governments for two months.
A Shinhan Card representative said, “We developed this solution by leveraging our payment data and AI technology to support data-driven policy-making for small and medium-sized local governments,” adding, “We will actively utilize Shinhan Card’s data assets to promote balanced regional development.”
