The assets of 31 aides of President Lee Jaemyung's office have been disclosed for the first time. Sangho Kim, Press Support Secretary of the Presidential Office, reported assets exceeding 6 billion won, making him the wealthiest among current officials. Yongbeom Kim, Policy Chief of the Presidential Office, reported assets of 4.2 billion won, nearly double the amount he declared when he was the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on September 26 disclosed the assets of 145 public officials. The officials subject to this disclosure are high-ranking officials whose status changed between June 2 and July 1 of this year.
Secretary Kim reported assets totaling 6,078,370,000 won, the highest among current officials. Most of his assets comprised multi-family housing in Gangnam-gu and an apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, worth about 7.5 billion won, owned by himself and his spouse. His spouse and children also held virtual assets worth 163,760,000 won and gold valued at 27,650,000 won. Additionally, they possessed antiques and artworks, including the calligraphy piece "Like the First Time" by the late Shin Youngbok, valued at 14,000,000 won. His liabilities amounted to 2,296,150,000 won.
The next highest was Youngjin Kim, President of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation under the Ministry of Justice, who reported assets of 5,908,210,000 won. His real estate holdings included an apartment in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu under his name and a leasehold right to another Banpo-dong apartment under his spouse's name, totaling 3.46 billion won. He also held deposits of about 1.59 billion won and securities worth about 1.28 billion won. The third highest was Sangkyung Lee, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, who reported 5,662,910,000 won, including an apartment in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, under his spouse's name, valued at 3.35 billion won.

The assets of 31 aides of the Presidential Secretariat were also disclosed. Policy Chief Kim reported assets totaling 4,224,210,000 won. He owned buildings worth 1,867,850,000 won, including an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and forest land in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, worth 271,560,000 won. His deposits amounted to 1,985,500,000 won. Compared to the 2,239,000,000 won he reported in March 2021 as the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, his assets have nearly doubled.

The assets of President Lee, Chief of Staff Hoonshik Kang, National Security Chief Sunglak Wi, and Spokesperson Yoojung Kang were not disclosed this time, as they were already made public in March through the National Assembly Public Officials Ethics Committee when they were serving as lawmakers.
Among Retirees, Former Secretary Kim Dongjo Tops the List with 23.9 Billion Won
Jongseok Lee, Director of the National Intelligence Service, reported assets of 1,991,920,000 won. Of this, 1,764,790,000 won was in deposits and 71,010,000 won in securities. Heesoo Kim, Secretary for Planning and Coordination at the National Intelligence Service, held 476,050,000 won, while Dongsu Lee, First Deputy Director, had 2,220,100,000 won. Hohong Kim, Second Deputy Director, reported assets of 573,260,000 won.
Among retirees, former Presidential Office Secretary for National Planning Dongjo Kim reported assets of 23,948,880,000 won, the highest among this group. Former Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs and Security Hojin Jang reported 15,819,300,000 won, the second highest, followed by former First Deputy Director of the National Security Office Taehyo Kim with 14,985,670,000 won. Former Chief of Staff Jinseok Jeong reported assets of 9,838,310,000 won.
