A Fall Music Event Blending Music, Food, and Local Culture
"Bongpo Heart Island Music Stage" to Be Held at Haepung Park
Goseong County in Gangwon Province and the Goseong Cultural Foundation will host the 3rd Bongpo Heart Island Music Stage at Haepung Park in Bongpori, Toseong-myeon, on September 27 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Now in its third year, the event has established itself as a stay-type nighttime cultural performance, offering a different atmosphere between day and night.
The festivities will kick off at 3:00 p.m. with the "Toseong-myeon Concert." Local arts groups such as the Goseong Choir, Toseong Harmony, and Oneness Band will take the stage to deliver warm and heartwarming performances. At 5:00 p.m., the Toseong-myeon Saemaeul Women's Association will present the "Octopus Noodle Taste Contest," where attendees can sample each team's octopus noodles and participate in voting for a unique culinary experience.
From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the highlight of the event, the "Heart Island Concert," will take place. The lineup includes the male popera group J Voice, the b-boy and beatbox fusion performance team Lastreet Crew & AM Jobs, the iconic jazz quartet Moon Mihyang Quartet, and DJ San, who brings local sentiment to the stage.
This year's stage will also feature local musicians from Cheonjin-ri, Toseong-myeon, Goseong. Guitarist Ha Beomseok of the Moon Mihyang Quartet is a member of the indie scene's notable Gogoak Band and runs the wine bar "Slow Dance," energizing the local music culture. DJ San also operates the multipurpose space "Partisan" in the same village, continuing his music residency. Their performances promise to offer a special opportunity to experience the charm of Goseong and its local musicians in one place.
The Bongpo Heart Island Music Stage began in 2023, inspired by storytelling from Jukdo, and last year attracted more than 2,000 visitors, making it a great success.
A representative from the Goseong Cultural Foundation stated, "The Bongpo Heart Island Music Stage, which embodies the romance not found in cities, is a music performance that captures the unique characteristics and emotions of southern Goseong, and is open for everyone to enjoy. We hope many people will join us at Haepung Park on this autumn night."
