On September 25, MGen Solution announced that AlphaShot, the AI (artificial intelligence) fire detection and suppression system developed by its subsidiary Hyundai Infracore, has been designated as an innovative prototype by the Public Procurement Service.
Products selected as innovative prototypes can be purchased preferentially by public institutions in accordance with the Public Procurement Business Act and related regulations. As these products can be supplied through private contracts without the need for competitive bidding, companies can secure initial sales channels and references.
In addition, since the product has been recognized for both technological innovation and public value, it is expected to provide enhanced credibility to a wide range of customers and partners in the future.
This product is equipped with infrared detection, data analysis, and automatic fire extinguishing agent spraying functions. With a thermal imaging camera and 360-degree rotating detection technology, it can respond without any blind spots. In the event of a fire, it detects the ignition point within 30 seconds and simultaneously sends an alert and automatically sprays the extinguishing agent. Notifications are sent immediately to both administrators and fire stations, enabling a rapid response.
According to the industry, a recent 15-year prison sentence handed down under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act is seen as a turning point that may change the long-standing practice of lenient penalties, which has often been criticized as being too soft. In fact, the court acknowledged potential side effects of its decision but emphasized the necessity of a severe sentence.
An MGen Solution representative stated, "Since the implementation of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, social concerns have increased, and inquiries about AlphaShot have been active." According to the industry, the global disaster safety industry market was projected to be approximately 1,880 trillion won last year and is experiencing rapid annual growth.
The company expects this designation as an innovative prototype to open up opportunities in the public sector as well. It plans to continuously expand its AI-based integrated disaster and security control business across both public and private sectors in the future.
