SNET Group (Chairman Park Hyodae) announced on September 25 that it held the second annual “Ji.Gu.Bit Plogging Campaign (Bluebit Saving the Earth),” an ESG social contribution activity, in the Seolleung area.
Recently, the government has made strengthening ESG disclosure and evaluation infrastructure, transitioning to renewable energy, and promoting RE100 key national growth strategies, emphasizing ESG as an essential factor for corporate competitiveness. In response, SNET Group has continued a variety of ESG activities, including plogging campaigns with direct participation from employees. Through plogging, the company aims to spread ESG values into employees’ daily practices and throughout the corporate culture, thereby strengthening the foundation for sustainable corporate growth. SNET Group also plans to accelerate tangible results by increasing customer and investor trust and embedding ESG awareness among employees.
The Ji.Gu.Bit Plogging Campaign stands for “Bluebit Saving the Earth.” Bluebit, SNET Group’s representative character and a bridge for communication with customers, plays a central role in this eco-friendly activity with employees. On this day, employees walked around the outskirts of Seolleung and Jeongneung for about one hour, collecting litter in biodegradable bags. They also minimized waste by reusing items such as tongs and vests needed for plogging, focusing on practical eco-friendly action. Gifts provided to participants included upcycled keyrings and eco-friendly deodorizers, further emphasizing sustainability.
A representative from SNET Group stated, “This plogging campaign was held for the second time following last year, and it was a meaningful event where employees voluntarily participated to practice environmental protection and ESG management values. SNET Group will continue to make ESG not just a form of social contribution, but a core element of corporate competitiveness and sustainable growth, creating real social value.”
Meanwhile, SNET Group continues to carry out various activities to practice ESG management beyond the plogging campaign. The company donated about 400 books to the Beautiful Store Foundation, promoting ESG values by supporting environmental protection through resource circulation and assisting socially marginalized groups. In addition, SNET Group participated in the “Sending Love PCs” campaign by donating used laptops, desktops, and monitors to the Korea IT Welfare Foundation, supporting digitally underserved communities.
