350 Pieces of Bread Delivered to Vulnerable Local Families
Employees of Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. are spreading warmth throughout the local community through the "Love Bread Sharing Volunteer Activity" in which they participate.
On September 24, Gwangju Shinsegae held a bread-making event for underprivileged groups at the Gwangju Volunteer Center of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, with more than 10 employees taking part.

For over two hours, the employees had a meaningful time making and packaging castella and muffins with the help of a baking expert. The 350 pieces of bread made that day are scheduled to be delivered to vulnerable families in the region.
This volunteer activity was made possible by Gwangju Shinsegae's full support of all activity expenses, including the cost of baking ingredients and packaging, and by the voluntary participation of employees. Notably, a portion of the funds came from the proceeds of items created by artists through talent donation to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the store's opening, adding further significance to the event.
As a local corporation, Gwangju Shinsegae plans to continue fulfilling its corporate social responsibility through a variety of social contribution activities, including not only bread-making volunteer work but also meal service volunteer activities in which employees directly participate.
Lee Donghun, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "Through this volunteer activity, where our employees personally participate and put their hearts into making bread, we hope to share warmth with others," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to steadily carry out social contribution activities for the local community."
