A 15-second promotional video released by Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province ahead of the upcoming 'Jeongjo Filial Piety Culture Festival' and 'King Jeongjo Royal Procession' events on September 27-28 has become a hot topic.


This video, created using artificial intelligence (AI) video technology, begins with the caption, "July 28, 1777 (lunar calendar), the first year of King Jeongjo's reign." It draws inspiration from the historical event of an assassination attempt that occurred shortly after King Jeongjo ascended to the throne.



The video symbolizes love for the nation and its people, the determination and crisis management skills of a leader, and represents King Jeongjo's philosophy of governance and political leadership, as he overcame opposing forces and pushed forward with reforms.


The city explained that through this video, it aimed to convey its administrative philosophy of not merely preserving the legacy of the past, but expanding its significance into the present and future. The advertisement will be used as promotional content to publicize the 'Jeongjo Filial Piety Culture Festival' and the 'King Jeongjo Royal Procession.'


After the video was released, social media was filled with praise, such as "an unprecedentedly high-quality local government promotional video," "a level of completion that goes beyond typical local government advertising," and "a new standard for city branding."


The city plans to sequentially release follow-up content that further embodies its urban philosophy.
