Siheung City to Launch Regular Operation of City Tour Double-Decker Bus Next Month
Geobukseom Island - Oido - Baedari Wharf Route to Run 12 Times Daily
Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 24 that it will begin the regular operation of a city tour bus connecting Geobukseom Island, Oido, and Baedari Wharf using a fully open double-decker bus starting from October 1.

The city explained that it has improved the service based on the results of a pilot operation conducted since July and will now launch the official service.
For the official operation, the number of daily runs will increase from six to twelve, and the duration of each trip will be standardized to between 40 minutes and one hour. The bus will operate twelve times a day, every hour from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The bus will depart every hour on the hour from the Geobukseom Promotion Center and follow a circular route that stops at the Marine Ecology Science Center, Baedari Wharf, Oido Museum, and Geobukseom Marina before returning to the Geobukseom Promotion Center.
The fare is 5,000 won for an all-day pass, which allows passengers to freely get on and off at designated stops throughout the day using a wristband ticket provided upon boarding.
Priority boarding is given to those who have made advance reservations for each run, but if seats are available, passengers may also board by making a card payment on site. Reservations can be made in advance on the official Siheung City Tour website starting September 29. Any changes to the schedule due to weather conditions, such as rain, will be announced on the website as needed.
The bus is equipped with an automatic tour guide system based on a GPS location tracking system, offering information in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese. Three cultural tourism interpreters will take turns on board, providing tourism information as well as ensuring safety and responding to emergencies.
During the Chuseok holiday period, from October 3 to 9, the service will be temporarily suspended for vehicle maintenance and reservation system checks. Normal operations will resume on October 10.
Im Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung, stated, "This regular operation will establish a 'Siheung-style tourism model' that connects the city's marine and cultural resources into one. We will continue to enhance our services based on customer feedback and develop diverse content to widely promote the appeal of Siheung as a tourist city."
