Siheung Baegot Seoul National University Hospital will be the only national central hospital and public medical institution in the southwestern region of Gyeonggi Province. It is being established as the nation's first hospital integrating clinical care and research.

The hospital will be built on a site of 67,505 square meters, featuring one basement level and 12 floors above ground. It will house a total of 800 beds and 27 medical departments, and is planned to operate six specialized centers, including those for cancer, maternal and child health, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The hospital is scheduled to open in 2029.

The hospital will also serve as a core facility for the Siheung Bio-Specialized Complex, which was designated as a national high-tech strategic industry zone last year. It will conduct data-driven research in collaboration with Seoul National University Siheung Campus, companies, and research institutes, and will implement AI-based precision medicine and digital healthcare demonstration functions.

The city expects that the hospital will employ 1,624 medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, and create approximately 142,000 jobs.

Lim Byungtaek, Mayor of Siheung, said, "Together with Seoul National University and Seoul National University Hospital, we will ensure the hospital opens as planned and delivers tangible results that benefit both citizens and the nation."
