Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Introduces Special Rider Offering 9% Auto Insurance Discount for Public Transportation Users

Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on September 24 that it has launched a special discount rider for public transportation users, offering reduced personal auto insurance premiums to customers who use public transportation or commuter buses.

This rider will apply to contracts that take effect starting September 26. Named insureds who have used public transportation or commuter buses at least 50 times in the past three months are eligible for a 9% discount on their auto insurance premiums.

The definition of public transportation includes city buses, metropolitan buses, village buses, Hangang buses, and subways. Applicants can easily sign up by entering the main transportation card number registered in their name.

This new rider is the first in the industry to expand eligibility to commuter bus users. Employees of corporations or organizations that have signed a business partnership agreement with Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance can receive the insurance premium discount by submitting a certificate verifying their use of a commuter bus.

A Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance representative stated, "This discount rider is an example of a customer idea from our Customer Panel Program being realized as an insurance product," adding, "We will continue to listen to customer feedback to enhance consumer benefits and do our utmost to practice low-carbon ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management by promoting the use of public transportation."
