and Advancing ESG Management
On September 24, Woori Bank announced that it held the women's workforce communication event, "Woori HERitage Talk: Dialogue on Sustainable Women's Leadership," at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.
This event was organized to strengthen the leadership capabilities of female talent and to promote diversity and an inclusive culture within the organization. Approximately 80 female employees, including three outside directors, attended the event.
The event was divided into three parts. The first part featured an external lecture on "Diversity and Organizational Culture." The second part included an external lecture and a conversation with executives on the topic of "Strengths and Contributions of Women's Leadership." The final third part was a discussion session with female outside directors on "Motivation for Leadership in Proactive Roles."
The outside directors shared their leadership experiences and growth journeys, emphasized the importance of diversity within organizations, and delivered messages to the next generation of female talent, providing practical advice on careers and leadership.
On this day, Woori Bank officially declared its support for and membership in the UN Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The Women's Empowerment Principles are a global initiative jointly established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact (UNGC), outlining seven key principles that companies should follow to respect women's rights and expand opportunities for women.
In his welcoming remarks, CEO Jung Jinwan stated, "The growth of female talent directly leads to enhanced corporate competitiveness," and added, "With our commitment to the Women's Empowerment Principles, we will further strengthen the foundation for female talent to demonstrate their capabilities and continue to pursue sustainable ESG management."
