AirPods Pro 3 Enhances Noise Canceling
The "iPhone Air," Apple's thinnest ultra-slim product to date, measuring 5.6mm thick and weighing 165g, does not have a SIM tray. As the first model to be released in Korea without a SIM tray, iPhone Air users can only use eSIM.
By removing the SIM tray, Apple was able to save enough space to increase battery capacity, extending media playback time by two hours. The iPhone Air supports up to 27 hours of media playback, and with the dedicated MagSafe, an additional 13 hours can be added, boasting a total of 40 hours.
eSIM stores user information digitally rather than on a physical chip, reducing concerns about personal data leakage such as SIM card cloning. When switching carriers, there is no need to physically replace a chip.
While Apple has released eSIM-only models in overseas markets such as the United States for the past two years, this is the first time an eSIM-only model has been introduced in Korea. Reflecting the global trend toward eSIM adoption, Apple has launched the iPhone Air as an eSIM-only device worldwide.
The iPhone Air uses a lightweight and durable titanium material. Test footage from development shows that when a 60kg weight is applied from above, the device bends slightly and then returns to its original shape when the pressure is released, demonstrating its flexibility.
However, since the rear camera consists of only a single lens, it is not possible to take professional-level telephoto or extreme close-up photos. Additionally, the iPhone Air has smaller speakers, so its maximum volume may be relatively lower compared to the iPhone 17 series products.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, featuring aluminum bodies, are the first iPhones to be equipped with a component called a "vapor chamber."
The vapor chamber rapidly dissipates heat generated by the A19 Pro chip, resulting in improved performance and longer battery life. According to Apple, the vapor chamber, available only in iPhone 17 Pro models and above, works synergistically with the A19 Pro chip to deliver 40% better performance compared to the previous generation. It also offers the longest battery life in iPhone history. With fast charging, 50% of the battery can be charged in just 20 minutes.
The Apple Watch Series 11 comes in both aluminum and titanium models, with battery life extended to a maximum of 24 hours for all-day use. The new "Sleep Score" feature is included with the watchOS 26 update.
Using sensors, the watch captures data such as heart rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen level, and respiratory rate during sleep. It then calculates a sleep score by evaluating factors such as whether the user maintains regular sleep habits, how many times they wake up, and the duration of deep sleep.
This month, the "sleep apnea" detection feature will be added in Korea. If sleep apnea patterns are detected, the user will receive a notification. While the high blood pressure detection and notification feature has been released in over 150 countries, it is not yet available in Korea due to pending approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. This feature notifies users if high blood pressure patterns are detected after approximately 30 days of use.
The newly released AirPods Pro 3 stands out for its active noise cancellation feature. When tested in a simulated noisy environment, such as an airplane, activating this feature made the airplane noise disappear almost completely, allowing only the music to be heard. There is also a setting that allows ambient sounds to be heard.
The AirPods Pro 3 can now measure heart rate and calories burned during exercise, and it also includes hearing test and hearing aid functions. However, the real-time translation feature, which allows users to converse with people speaking different languages and was unveiled at Apple's recent product announcement, does not yet support Korean.
