On September 23 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump strongly criticized the United Nations, claiming that after taking office for a second term, he ended seven wars around the world. He argued that while the United Nations has enormous potential, it has completely failed to realize it, emphasizing the need for reform.

In his keynote address at the high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly held at the UN headquarters in New York that day, President Trump claimed, "Within seven months of taking office, I ended seven wars."

He referred to conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, Congo and Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Armenia and Azerbaijan, explaining that he contributed to resolving these disputes.

He went on to say, "I did not receive a single phone call from the United Nations," adding, "It is very unfortunate that I have to do these things instead of the United Nations fulfilling its role." He further emphasized, "The United Nations has tremendous potential, but it is failing to live up to it."

He continued, "All I received from the United Nations was a terrible escalator and a broken teleprompter," pointing out his inconvenience. This was a joking reference to his experience earlier that morning when the escalator stopped midway as he was heading to the assembly hall and the teleprompter malfunctioned at the start of his speech. However, his remarks were interpreted as a pointed criticism of the United Nations' incompetence.

He once again expressed his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize. President Trump stated, "Everyone says I should receive the Nobel Peace Prize," but emphasized, "However, my true reward is that millions of people are no longer sacrificed in endless and shameful wars."

President Trump also reiterated his strong commitment to cracking down on illegal immigration, a policy he has pursued since the beginning of his term.

He warned, "If you enter the United States illegally, you will go to prison and eventually be sent back to your home country." He continued, "We refuse to allow countless people from foreign countries to trample our borders, violate our sovereignty, commit endless crimes, and deplete our social safety net," adding, "Once again, we declare that America belongs to the American people."
