The Education and Culture Committee of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, chaired by Myung Jin, visited Gwangju Sports High School on the 23rd to encourage the athletes who are focusing on their final training in preparation for the 106th National Sports Festival.
Gwangju Sports High School, a renowned institution for nurturing local sports talent, plans to send 197 participants in 20 events, including modern pentathlon, to this year’s National Sports Festival. On this day, members of the Education and Culture Committee visited the training facilities for taekwondo, boxing, track and field, archery, and other events, offering words of encouragement to the students who are engaged in intensive training.
Chairman Myung Jin stated, "I hope that the students of Gwangju Sports High School, who are the pride of our region, will do their best so that they can fully demonstrate the skills they have honed and achieve their goals at this National Sports Festival."
The 106th National Sports Festival will be held throughout Busan from October 17 to 23, 2025. From Gwangju, a total of 1,439 participants-including 1,071 athletes and 368 officials-will compete in 50 events.
