Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 23rd that it had strengthened friendly cooperation through sports exchanges during a meeting with a delegation from the Rizhao City Football Association of China.

The visit to City Hall was attended by about 20 people, including the Rizhao City Football Association delegation and officials from the Changwon City Football Association. They had a friendly conversation with Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, and discussed ways to promote football exchanges and tourism cooperation between the two cities.

This exchange match was organized after the Changwon City Football Association visited Rizhao City last year, hosting the '1st Korea-China Football Exchange Match' to activate exchanges and enhance friendship between the two cities' football associations. At that time, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), promising future youth training exchanges and friendly matches in amateur sports to foster unity and friendship through football.

The Rizhao City Football Association delegation arrived in Changwon on the 21st to participate in the '2025 Korea-China Football Exchange Match.' In addition to visiting City Hall, they are scheduled to experience the charm of Changwon through friendly matches, a visit to Gyeongnam FC, and city sightseeing, before returning to China on the 24th.

Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "We welcome the visit of the Rizhao City football delegation from China. I hope this event will continue in the future, serving as an opportunity for the two cities and both football associations to strengthen their friendship and expand cooperation in more diverse fields."

Meanwhile, Rizhao City in China is a marine tourism city with a population of about 3 million, located in the southern part of Shandong Province. With its beautiful coastline and status as a major port city, Rizhao shares many similarities with Changwon, raising expectations for active exchange and cooperation in the future.
