Iksan City in North Jeolla Province will hold a youth-tailored financial education program called "Youth Ik-Tech" from October 21 to December 16, 2025, to support asset building and economic independence among young people.
According to the city on September 23, the program "Ik-Tech" is a name created by combining "Iksan" and "financial technology," signifying its aim to help young people in Iksan manage their money wisely and plan for their future.
The curriculum focuses on practical financial knowledge relevant to everyday life and consists of three courses: basics of salary management and understanding taxes, financial products and trends in the economic market, and preparation for retirement and the pension system.
The education will be divided into classes A, B, and C based on participant demand, with each class meeting three times. Sessions will be held at Iksan Youth City Hall every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The program is open to young people aged 18 to 39 residing in Iksan, with a total of 45 participants (15 per class) accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications can be submitted on the Iksan Youth City Hall website until October 16, 2025.
Each lecture will be conducted using case studies, and participants will receive individual feedback on salary management along with Q&A sessions. For more information, visit the Iksan Youth City Hall website or contact the Youth Employment Department.
Mayor Jung Heon-yul stated, "Youth Ik-Tech is a practical education program that goes beyond simply delivering financial knowledge, helping young people design their own path to economic independence. I hope many young people participate and build a stable foundation for self-reliance."
Meanwhile, the city also plans to run a "Short-form Creator Training Program" on October 18, 2025, to enhance youth employment capabilities. This course will offer practical training in planning, filming, and editing digital content for young people interested in digital content creation.
