RaonSecure Successfully Concludes "2025 SecuUp & Hackathon," Unveils Vision for Data Sovereignty Through Web3-AI Convergence

RaonSecure presented its vision for data sovereignty and a hyperconnected society through the convergence of the Web3 ecosystem and AI, successfully concluding the "2025 SecuUp & Hackathon."

RaonSecure, an IT security and authentication platform company led by CEOs Lee Soonhyung and Lee Jeonga, announced on September 23 at COEX in Seoul that it had successfully wrapped up the "2025 SecuUp & Hackathon," held under the theme "A Future Connected by Web3 and AI." The event drew a record number of participants, including domestic and international experts from the security and authentication industries, academia, and related sectors.

Now in its 13th year, the SecuUp seminar featured RaonSecure sharing insights on the new changes and developmental directions for the information security industry brought about by the convergence of Web3 and AI technologies.

In his opening remarks, RaonSecure CEO Lee Soonhyung emphasized, "Data sovereignty is a fundamental right in the digital society, and it is essential to build a digital identity infrastructure that spans the entire life cycle, from birth to old age." He continued, "Web3 helps alleviate concerns over AI's monopoly and misuse of big data, and completes a trust-based framework, while AI complements the decentralized Web3 environment by enabling rational and autonomous decision-making. The convergence of these two technologies will create new trust systems and social value."

At the event, RaonSecure also unveiled its roadmap for a hyperconnected platform service based on Web3 and AI. The company plans to expand the Web3 ecosystem by leveraging blockchain-based digital authentication technology and to contribute to the advancement of the information security industry through security and authentication services that combine integrated information protection solutions with AI technologies.

To this end, RaonSecure presented a future-oriented direction for hyperconnected platforms that transcend on- and offline as well as metaverse space and time. This includes Web3 token economy platforms such as NFTs and stablecoins, DID and AI-based data platforms for healthcare, education, public, and finance, as well as digital authentication platforms based on post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and zero-knowledge proof (ZKP).

In subsequent sessions, RaonSecure addressed key security issues and response strategies for the Web3 and AI era, such as robust user authentication and access control, zero trust strategies for data and information assets, the recently announced National Security Framework (N2SF) 1.0 guidelines by the National Intelligence Service, AI security, and information protection based on post-quantum cryptography. Professor Kim Yongseong of Wonkwang University explained ways to protect sensitive data and build trust through DID identity authentication cases in healthcare, while Professor Kim Seongyo of Konkuk University shared hands-on experiences with digital badges.

RaonMeta, a subsidiary of RaonSecure, introduced innovative directions for Web3 and AI-based metaverse platforms through the MetaDemy track, including practical metaverse platforms and content such as powerboat operation, forklift driving, and vocational training for people with disabilities. In the keynote, Professor Woo Woontaeck of KAIST predicted the future of the metaverse under the theme "K-Metaverse Opened by Spatial Intelligence and Extended Reality (XR)," while Chae Jaebyeong, head of SK Telecom, discussed trends in metaverse practice devices and the potential for revolutionary changes in the device environment. In the following panel discussion, Professor Woo Woontaeck, Chae Jaebyeong, and Choi Yonggi, vice president of the Korea Metaverse Industry Association (K-meta), engaged in a lively debate on the future growth potential of the K-Metaverse industry in response to technological changes in content, platforms, and devices.

Global speakers also attended to share international security and authentication issues. Mizuma Itsunobu, CTO of Cyberlinks, introduced strategies for entering the Japanese credential market using RaonSecure's "OmniOne Digital ID." Kevin Garcia, professor at Costa Rica Institute of Technology, highlighted the need for cooperation between Korea and Costa Rica to strengthen digital sovereignty and build a trustworthy identity system based on OpenDID. Benjamin, lead developer for Google Android Enterprise, drew attention by presenting the necessity of the zero trust security model and global application cases.

The hackathon finals, held alongside the main event, concluded successfully as ten finalist teams showcased practical and creative business ideas utilizing blockchain and AI technologies.

CEO Lee Soonhyung stated, "The 2025 SecuUp & Hackathon was a meaningful event presenting a vision for the future of a hyperconnected society created by the convergence of Web3 and AI," and added, "RaonSecure will lead the way in securing data sovereignty, which is central to the era of sovereign AI, and will strive to become a global leader in building digital trust infrastructure through continuous technological innovation."

Meanwhile, following the video-based deepfake detection technology unveiled at the previous SecuUp, RaonSecure has further expanded its AI security capabilities by introducing "DeepVoice Detection," which can also identify voice modulation. This feature is scheduled to be implemented in the company's personal mobile antivirus app, "Raon Mobile Security," within this year, and will be further developed to support real-time deepfake detection on video platforms in the future. In addition, the company continues to research solutions that integrate AI technologies into various security areas, including malware, smishing, and authentication threat detection.
