Murattamer, Turkish Ambassador to South Korea, stated, "I congratulate you on the opening of the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival," adding, "Korean ginseng is recognized worldwide for its quality."
He continued, "Through this visit, I have gained a deep understanding of the excellence of Geumsan ginseng and its traditional culture," emphasizing, "I would like to actively introduce Korean ginseng to the people of Turkey as well."
Geumsan County is making every effort to engage with foreign ambassadors and high-level officials through the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival, which runs until the 28th.
On the 19th, the festival's opening ceremony was attended by Murattamer, Turkish Ambassador to South Korea, Sharon Quirk-Silva, a member of the California State Assembly in the United States, and a delegation from Padawan, Malaysia, among others, marking a new chapter in ginseng exchange and cultural cooperation.
Prior to this, in May, Geumsan County officially established a sister city relationship with Talas District in Kayseri Province, Turkey, through a formal written agreement, thereby strengthening friendly ties between the two countries.
Before the opening ceremony, the county presented ginseng dishes and health foods to major foreign guests, and provided experiences such as ginseng harvesting and traditional ginseng processing, to showcase the cultivation and processing of ginseng.
Furthermore, the Korean American Federation of the United States is scheduled to visit on the 26th, and Hiroki Kondo, Mayor of Nisshin, Japan, will visit on the 27th. Geumsan County plans to promote Geumsan ginseng globally and broaden understanding of the region's history and culture.
Park Beomin, County Governor of Geumsan, stated, "Ambassador Murattamer's visit will enhance the international brand value of Geumsan ginseng," and added, "We will continue practical discussions to promote cultural and economic exchanges with Turkey in the future."
