Daejeon City Special Judicial Police Crack Down on 6 Illegal Restaurants (Operating Without Registration)
The Daejeon City Special Judicial Police have uncovered illegal activities at six restaurants operating within delivery food establishments and internet cafes.
From July until September 15, the Special Judicial Police inspected 53 delivery food establishments and restaurants inside internet cafes, which are considered vulnerable to hygiene issues. As a result, six businesses were found to be in violation of the Food Sanitation Act.
This crackdown focused on restaurants that ranked high on delivery apps and those frequented by students and young adults. Three businesses were found storing or displaying products past their expiration date for cooking purposes, and three others were operating restaurants without proper registration.
During the inspection, businesses A and B were found to be storing expired products such as mayonnaise sauce, teriyaki sauce, bread, and sausages in refrigerators and freezers. Business C was caught displaying beverages like grapefruit, passion fruit, lemon, and brown sugar base drinks on its shelves.
Additionally, businesses D, E, and F continued to operate with cooking facilities and dining areas without having filed the required business registration.
