Financial Authorities to Hold "Voice Phishing Policy and Promotion Ideas Contest"

Promotion Video Contest to Be Held from September 24 to October 31

Financial Authorities to Hold "Voice Phishing Policy and Promotion Ideas Contest" Yonhap News

The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service announced on September 23 that, together with the financial sector, they will jointly host a "National Contest for Voice Phishing Policy and Promotion Ideas."

This nationwide contest follows the recent "On-site Meeting for the Eradication of Voice Phishing" and is intended to actively reflect a wide range of public opinions in policymaking.

The contest will be held from September 24 to October 31, and any citizen may participate individually.

There are two categories: Policy and Promotion. In the Policy category, participants are invited to propose diverse and innovative ideas regarding any inconveniences or areas for improvement they have experienced with the current voice phishing system. In the Promotion category, the contest seeks creative short-form promotional videos that can easily resonate with the public.

The judging will take place throughout November, and a panel of external experts will select a total of 10 winners.

For the winners, two Grand Prize recipients will receive a commendation (from the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission or the Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service) and a cash prize of 3 million won each. Two Excellence Award winners will receive a commendation (from the Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks) and a cash prize of 2 million won each. Six Encouragement Award winners will receive a cash prize of 1 million won each.

The winning entries in the Policy category will be actively reviewed for possible adoption into actual policy. The winning entries in the Promotion category will be used as "joint promotional materials for the financial sector" and will be featured on various platforms, including monitors and smart devices at financial company branches and YouTube channels.
