Sacheon City Implements Safety and Convenience Measures for a Happy Chuseok Holiday

20 Detailed Measures Prepared Across Four Key Areas

Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 23 that it will implement the "2025 Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Measures" to ensure that returning visitors, tourists, and citizens can enjoy a safe and happy holiday during the Chuseok break.

From September 22 to October 9, the city will carry out 20 detailed measures across four areas: a generous holiday without worries about shopping baskets, a warm holiday filled with kindness, a comfortable and safe holiday, and a pleasant and happy holiday.

In particular, from October 3 to October 9, the city will operate a comprehensive holiday situation room for seven days. A total of 138 staff members from 11 departments, led by the deputy mayor, will be on duty to respond quickly to any incidents that may arise.

The city will establish and operate a comprehensive price control situation room, organize joint inspection teams to monitor the prices and supply of essential holiday goods, and strengthen inspections and guidance on country-of-origin labeling.

In addition, 27 LPG retailers will participate to ensure a stable energy supply during the holiday period, and the city will cooperate with the Employment and Labor Office to address delayed wage payments.

The city will also strengthen safety management systems by inspecting key facilities such as social welfare centers and senior citizen centers, which may be more vulnerable to feelings of isolation. Measures will be taken to prepare for emergencies involving elderly people living alone. Meal support plans will be implemented to prevent meal service gaps for children, ensuring that marginalized groups can also enjoy a warm holiday.

The disaster safety situation room will operate 24 hours a day, and inspections will be conducted at multi-use facilities and fire-prone locations. To reduce traffic congestion, special inspections of public transportation will be carried out and taxi rotation restrictions will be lifted. The city will also inspect facilities and crack down on street vendors and illegally placed items to ensure safe road conditions.

In particular, the city will operate a wildfire prevention headquarters to prevent forest fires and ensure emergency medical services at public healthcare institutions to prevent medical service gaps in vulnerable areas.

Thorough safety checks will be conducted at major tourist attractions, and public restrooms will be maintained. Environmental cleanup activities will be carried out to create a clean urban environment.

To prevent a gap in waste collection during the Chuseok holiday, the city will inform the public in advance about non-collection days (October 5 to 7) and operate a rapid repair team to minimize inconvenience for citizens.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "I hope everyone will show consideration for one another and prioritize safety during the Chuseok holiday," adding, "I wish happiness for every family."

He continued, "We will continue to expand administrative services that improve the quality of life for citizens and work towards making Sacheon a 'city of happiness.'"
