20th Anniversary of the National Museum of Korea: Limited Edition Cultural Heritage Released
Bicho B Becomes a Must-Buy for Travelers to Korea, Following Tokyo Banana and Pineapple Cake
Orion announced on the 23rd that it will launch the 'Bicho B National Museum Edition,' which features treasures housed in the National Museum of Korea, in collaboration with the National Museum Foundation.
This is the first time that Bicho B has incorporated Korea's representative cultural heritage, known for its high cultural value, into confectionery products through an official partnership with the National Museum Foundation. The National Museum Foundation is a public institution that creates and promotes new value for cultural heritage by planning and operating exhibitions, museum merchandise, and performances at national museums.
This collaboration was planned to mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan, aiming to introduce highly valuable treasures through Bicho B, which is gaining popularity among foreign visitors to Korea. As 'MU:DS' (a portmanteau of 'museum' and 'goods') from the National Museum of Korea continues to sell out, the collaboration is expected to help raise awareness of the uniqueness and prestige of Korea's cultural heritage.
The Bicho B National Museum Edition is designed with Korea's representative treasures, from the outer case to each individual wrapper. It features eight cultural assets, including the 'Hojakdo'-the motif for 'Duffy' in K-Pop Demon Hunters-as well as the Gilt-bronze Pensive Bodhisattva (National Treasure No. 78 and No. 83), Celadon Openwork Incense Burner with Chilbo Design (National Treasure No. 95), Ten-story Stone Pagoda of Gyeongcheonsa Temple Site (National Treasure No. 86), Gold Crown from Seobongchong Tomb (Treasure No. 339), White Porcelain Moon Jar (Treasure No. 1437), Irwol Obongdo, and Hojokban. It will be available sequentially from the 29th at major retailers nationwide, including Lotte Mart Seoul Station, the Myeong-dong tourist district, and other leading supermarkets and hypermarkets popular among foreign visitors.
Bicho B is establishing itself as a 'must-buy item for travelers to Korea,' similar to Japan's Tokyo Banana and Taiwan's Pineapple Cake. The 'Bicho B Korea Edition,' launched last year and featuring traditional Korean attire such as royal robes, scholars' outfits, bridal gowns, and children's dress, has also received a positive response. As of last month, Bicho B's sales at Lotte Mart Seoul Station grew by 120% compared to the same period last year.
