BISTEP to Hold 2nd Forum at BEXCO on September 26
Large Participation from Industry, Academia, and Research Experts
The Busan Institute of Science and Technology for Higher Education Promotion (BISTEP), led by President Kim Youngbu, will hold the 2nd Busan Science and Technology Policy Forum at the small conference room of BEXCO Exhibition Center II at 1:00 p.m. on September 26.
This forum will be held under the theme of "Intelligent Robots and the Future Industrial Innovation of Busan."
At the event, Kim Soongyeom, Principal Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Research Division of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) AI and Robotics Research Center, and Lee Seungjun, Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Pusan National University, will each give presentations on "The Possibilities and Limitations of Physical AI" and "The Present and Future of Intelligent Service Robots," respectively.
Following the presentations, Kim Youngbu, President of BISTEP, will moderate a comprehensive discussion on the topic of "Regional Innovation Driven by the Convergence of Intelligent Robots and AI."
The discussion will feature 11 experts from industry, academia, and research organizations, including representatives from Busan Metropolitan City, the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, Electronic Times, Busan Science and Technology Council, the Association of Korean Women Scientists and Engineers, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation, the Korean Society for Science and Technology Studies, the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, as well as local universities and companies.
Kim Youngbu, President of BISTEP, stated, "Intelligent robots and physical AI technologies will become the driving force for innovation in Busan's manufacturing, marine, and logistics industries. We will do our utmost to ensure that the ideas generated through this forum make a tangible contribution to the advancement of local industries."
Since this year, BISTEP has been operating the "Science and Technology Policy Forum" as a regular branded forum in collaboration with local science and technology organizations.
The first forum was held in August, and this event is being organized in conjunction with the 11th Busan R&D Week. Registration is free and can be completed in advance through the Busan R&D Week website.
