To Be Held at Peace Plaza of the War Memorial on September 25
Direct Trade Markets with Sister Cities and Counties, and More
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Heeyoung), will support the “Yongsan Sanghoe” win-win market for small business owners and residents, hosted by the Yongsan-gu Chamber of Commerce, to be held at the Peace Plaza of the War Memorial of Korea on September 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This event is designed to provide small business owners, who are struggling due to the economic downturn and other factors, with opportunities to promote their products and expand their sales channels, as well as to create a space for communication and harmony among residents.
This year’s Yongsan Sanghoe will welcome visitors with a total of 45 diverse booths, including those for outstanding local small business products, social enterprises and self-support work groups, direct trade markets with sister cities and counties, a resident flea market, women’s association food booths, and hands-on experience booths.
Local small business owners, social enterprises, and self-support work groups will showcase and sell high-quality goods such as commodities, clothing, and crafts. In addition, a direct trade market will be set up in collaboration with seven sister cities and counties, including Jecheon in North Chungcheong Province, to offer a variety of local agricultural specialties-such as apples, honey, and traditional Korean sweets-at affordable prices for residents.
Not only merchants but also residents will have the opportunity to gather and buy or sell used goods, fostering communication and unity within the community. Experience booths will feature activities such as an artificial intelligence (AI) cotton candy vending machine, balloon art, rattan crafts, 3D pen drawing, virtual reality (VR) experiences, four-cut photo booths, recycled flowerpot making, and CPR training.
On stage, a variety of performances are scheduled, including guest singer Lee Dojin and the group Space A. There will also be busking performances by the Woorinuri Pungmuldan and Dancing Nanta resident groups, as well as fusion Korean traditional music, tap dance, magic shows, and popular music.
Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, “Since the theme of this event is ‘mutual growth,’ we will continue to work to create an environment where local merchants and residents can grow and thrive together.”
