The 'Gyeonggi Peace and Security Festival' is the province's flagship annual security experience event, providing an opportunity for the military, police, and civilians to participate together, raising security awareness and reflecting on the meaning of peace. This year, the festival will take place at the historic Jeongok-ri Prehistoric Site in Yeoncheon, making it a special occasion where history, security, family, and community converge.

Under the theme 'Encountering Peace in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province,' the festival will feature a diverse range of content, including military equipment exhibitions, security education, children's experience programs, and a security photo exhibition by the Ministry of National Defense. Institutions such as the Ministry of National Defense, the Army, Navy, Air Force, and the National Police Agency will participate, and there will also be interactive experience booths and performances for attendees to enjoy.

A special event, the 'Distinguished Military Service Family Invitation,' will honor families who have faithfully fulfilled military service for three or more generations, recognizing the value of military duty and expressing respect and gratitude. This event aims to promote intergenerational awareness of security and the honor of military service. It will include a plaque of appreciation ceremony, commemorative performances, tours of the event venue, and security-themed field trips.

Gyeonggi Province plans to use the 'Gyeonggi Peace and Security Festival' as an opportunity for residents to naturally understand the importance of security, while fostering harmony between military families and local residents. For children and youth, it will serve as an educational experience to enhance security awareness, and for families, it is expected to provide memorable moments of relaxation and hands-on activities.

Cho Gwanggeun, Director of Emergency Planning at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This year's Gyeonggi Peace and Security Festival is a meaningful occasion where participants can simultaneously experience the significance of history, security, and community," adding, "We will prepare substantial programs so that both military families and residents can communicate and empathize together."
