Meeting with Members of the Korean Community in New York
President Lee Jaemyung arrived in New York, USA, on the 22nd (local time) to attend the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, beginning his five-day, three-night schedule.
Immediately upon arrival, President Lee plans to meet with Larry Fink, Chair of the World Economic Forum and Chairman of BlackRock, to discuss cooperation measures related to artificial intelligence (AI) and energy transition. He will also meet with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to request the legislature’s active role in advancing Korea-U.S. relations.
In the evening, he will attend a meeting with the Korean community, spending time with Korean residents in New York who are active across various fields and generations.
On the second day of his visit, September 23, President Lee will deliver a keynote speech at the high-level session of the UN General Assembly. He will be the seventh speaker to deliver a keynote address, and as this is a gathering of world leaders, it is expected to serve as a significant stage for governments to declare their foreign policies.
In his keynote speech, President Lee plans to declare the “Return of Democratic Korea” and present the government’s diplomatic vision, including policies regarding the Korean Peninsula. He will also outline Korea’s plans to contribute to global peace and prosperity.
