Discussion on Improving the Standard Labor Cost System and Other Key Issues

The Gyeonggi Province Mayors and Governors Association held a regular meeting on the 22nd at the Convention Hall of the Wave M Hotel on Turtle Island in Siheung City to discuss major joint issues.

This meeting was the first regular gathering held in the fourth year of the 8th popularly elected term. Presided over by Ju Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju and chairman of the association, the meeting was attended by 27 cities and counties. A total of 37 agenda items were addressed, including proposals from the secretariat and from the cities and counties of Gyeonggi Province.


The attendees discussed major issues such as improving the standard labor cost system, integrating the mobile electronic notification system, and expanding local finance and autonomy.


In his welcoming remarks, Lim Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung, stated, "Siheung has led mutual cooperation within the province based on its dynamic coexistence of bio, education, marine, and ecological sectors," adding, "Through this meeting, we will further strengthen solidarity among cities and counties and reinforce local governance."
