Kim said, "It feels special to be in the commentary booth at the Hite Jinro Championship, a tournament hosted by my long-time sponsor and where I have previously won. It's my first time doing live commentary, so I'm very nervous, but I hope viewers will watch me closely in my new role as a commentator." She added, "I'm very familiar with the Blue Heron course where the tournament will be held. Based on my experience as a player, I will do my best to explain various hole situations and course strategies in a way that is easy for viewers to understand."
Kim has established herself as a top player with 8 wins on the KLPGA Tour and 6 wins on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour. She was the KLPGA Tour's money leader for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012. The Hite Jinro Championship holds special significance for her, as she became a major champion by winning this tournament in 2011. Since retiring from professional golf in 2021, she has been active as a broadcaster and influencer.
