Only First Round Completed, Tournament Fails to Meet 36-Hole Requirement
Lotte Championship to Be Held in Hawaii Starting October 1

The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on the LPGA Tour (total prize money: 3 million dollars) was canceled due to severe weather.

On September 21 (local time), the LPGA Tour announced, "We determined that it would be difficult to continue the tournament due to the weather and course conditions. With rain also forecast for the 22nd, we have made the final decision to cancel the event." The tournament was scheduled to be held over three days starting on the 19th at Pinnacle Country Club (par 71, 6,438 yards) in Rogers, Arkansas, but was hindered by severe weather.

The second round was suspended the previous day after thunderstorms allowed only some players to take the course, and on this day, heavy rain prevented any play. At least 36 holes must be completed for the event to be recognized as an official tournament.

In the first round, Sarah Schmelzel (United States) and Minami Katsu (Japan) both shot an 8-under-par 63 to share the lead. Following them, Lee Somi, Lilia Vu (United States), Nasa Hataoka (Japan), Carlota Ciganda (Spain), and Leona Maguire (Ireland) were tied for second place at 7-under-par 64, one stroke behind the leaders.

The LPGA Tour will continue with the Lotte Championship (total prize money: 3 million dollars) at Hoakalei Country Club (par 72, 6,566 yards) in Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, starting October 1. The defending champion is Kim Arim.
