Larry Ellison and Michael Dell Mentioned
"They Are Patriots"
U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned media mogul Rupert Murdoch and others as potential American investors who may participate in acquiring TikTok's U.S. business rights.
In a Fox News interview aired on the 21st (local time), President Trump said, "As you know, they (the investors) are very well-known people. Larry Ellison is one of them. He is involved." He continued, "Michael Dell, who is a great person, is also participating. There is also someone with a rare name, Lachlan. That's Lachlan Murdoch. Rupert, his father, will probably also be part of that group."
Larry Ellison is the founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Oracle, a U.S. software and cloud company. Michael Dell is the chairman of Dell Technologies, a manufacturer of artificial intelligence (AI) servers and computers.
Lachlan has been designated as the successor to his father, Rupert Murdoch, who has built a "media empire" that includes Fox News, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the New York Post, as well as major broadcasters and newspapers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. President Trump described them as "patriots," saying, "They love this country, so I believe they will do a great job."
In addition, President Trump criticized the Democratic Party for opposing the Republican continuing resolution (CR), and regarding the 2026 midterm elections, he said, "Statistically, presidents have lost midterm elections. But we are running a great presidency," adding, "We will have a great midterm election result."
Regarding Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is considered a progressive within the Democratic Party and is reportedly weighing a run in the 2028 presidential election, President Trump said, "In terms of keeping America great, she has a philosophy that is not right for the country. Her philosophy is not good for our country, and I don't think she can win with that philosophy."
Meanwhile, when asked about the car he wanted most as a child, President Trump named the Italian brand Ferrari, then added, "Now I buy American cars. Fifty-two percent of our car manufacturing was taken by other countries such as Mexico, Canada, Germany, China, and Japan, but now it is all coming back (to the U.S.). We are going to manufacture a lot of cars."
